Imeko Youth Seek Federal Government’s Intervention to Establish National Park at Amule Rock
Youths of Imeko community in Ogun State have called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to establish a National Park at the historic Amule Rock , Imeko , in order to preserve its cultural, environmental, and historical significance . The youths also appealed to the Ogun State Government to urgently develop the site into a standard tourist center capable of attracting visitors from within and outside the country. Speaking during a community engagement held in Imeko, the youth spokesman described Amule Rock as a vital cultural landmark that represents the identity, traditions, and heritage of the Imeko people . According to them, the rock has served for generations as a symbol of unity, history, and environmental significance within the community, it's served as a place of refuge for the inhabitants of the city during the war between the Fulanis and Oyo Empire.
