NYCN OGUN WEST, NOTICE OF PEACEFUL PROTEST

 NOTICE OF PEACEFUL PROTEST

Date: December 5th, 2024

Time: 10:00 am

Venue: Sango Under Bridge (To IBEDC Office)

To: All Ogun Westerners, IBEDC Management, All Security Agencies and the general public.

We, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State West senatorial district, write to notify you of a peaceful protest by the youths of Ogun West senatorial district.

This protest is in response to the prolonged power outages affecting over 16 communities in Yewa North local government area and other communities in Ogun West at large, which has persisted for over three years and the Failure of the IBEDC Technical Section to meet up with our request in the letter sent to them on the 15th of November, 2024. This action of negligence shows that the IBEDC as an organization is less concerned about the well-being of our people and the Failure of IBEDC to attend to the Youths Leadership Request as stated in our letter between today and Tuesday 2nd of December will leave us with no option than to engage the last 'C' in Struggle.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ogun West Senatorial District serves as the umbrella body for all youth organizations in the region. As the apex youth body, NYCN is responsible for mobilizing youths across the three tiers of government to implement national and state youth policies

The objectives of this protest are:

1. To get the list of the needed materials for the restoration of power supply to Yewa North Local Government Communities

2. Assurance of Technical Services Immediately, the materials are handed over to IBEDC.

3. To demand immediate restoration of power supply to the affected communities.

4. To seek a lasting solution to the intermittent power supply in our area.

We assure you that the protest will be peaceful and lawful. We urge the IBEDC management to take immediate action to address our grievances.

We request the presence of security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all participants.
