On March 18, 2025, the community leaders and the youths of Imeko-Isale Area staged a walk against the substandard and narrow road construction at Onimeko Palace Road, Imeko-isale quarters Imeko. The community leaders and youths condemned the mismanagement of government resources, which has hindered the progress of the project. They commended the initiator of the project but emphasized that any form of substandard construction would not be tolerated in the community.
The Onimeko Palace Road popularly known as Obolo/Ayetoro Road Imeko is a critical artery that connects the two local government headquarters of Yewa-North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, namely Ayetoro and Imeko. The road also links over 50 villages, making it a vital infrastructure project. The spokesperson for the community and youths reiterated that the community would not accept any substandard work, especially on a critical road like Onimeko Palace Road. The protest demonstrates the community's commitment to ensuring that government projects meet the required standards, and their determination to hold authorities accountable for the effective management of resources.
