FIALGSU Redefinition Team ’26 Hosts Successful JAMB Orientation Programme in Imeko-Afon LG

 


On Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, the Federation of Imeko-Afon Local Government Students Union (FIALGSU) Redefinition Team ’26, under the leadership of Comrade Otolorin Nasirudeen Kehinde, successfully organized a highly impactful JAMB Orientation Programme for SS3 students and prospective JAMB candidates across Imeko-Afon Local Government.


The programme was thoughtfully designed to guide, enlighten, and adequately prepare participants for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It focused on equipping students with the right information, effective strategies, and the confidence required to excel in their examinations.


The event recorded an impressive turnout, with students participating from various secondary schools within the Local Government. These included Nazareth High School, Imeko; Iwoye Ketu Community High School; Alaketu High School, Imeko; United Christian Community, Ilara; Community High School, Ilara; Ajoda Grammar School, Ilara; Muslim Grammar School, Imeko; JB Bankole Memorial College, Imeko; Faith Model College, Imeko; Imeko Comprehensive College; Community High School, Oke-Agbede; and Community High School, Afon. The wide participation reflected the strong commitment of students in the area toward academic excellence and self-improvement.


During the programme, experienced and resourceful speakers delivered insightful sessions covering key aspects of the JAMB process. Topics discussed included JAMB registration procedures, appropriate subject combinations, examination techniques, and effective study habits. Participants were also given the opportunity to ask questions and received practical, tailored advice to support their individual academic goals.



In a statement signed by the Union President, Comrade Otolorin Nasirudeen Kehinde, he emphasized that the success of the programme is a clear testament to FIALGSU’s unwavering commitment to educational development and student empowerment within Imeko-Afon. He further assured that the Union remains dedicated to initiating more impactful programmes aimed at inspiring, uplifting, and preparing students for greater academic and professional achievements.


The Union also expressed its sincere appreciation to the sponsors of the programme, Engr. Ogundele Jamiu Foundation (EOJF) and Samuel Sunkanmi Fagbohun Foundation, for their generous support and contribution toward the success of the event.


Furthermore, the Union used the opportunity to call on well-meaning sons and daughters of Imeko-Afon, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue supporting and partnering with the current Executive Council and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) in achieving the Union’s goals and advancing educational development in the community.


Indeed, through unity and collective effort, the vision of building a stronger and more impactful FIALGSU will be realized.
